    This opulent building is dedicated to Moulay Ismaïl Ibn Sharif. He was also known as the “Warrior King”. Indeed, he built the city of Meknes and made it the capital of Morocco at the time. The 18th-century mausoleum is a fine example of Moroccan architecture.

    Entrance is via a series of austere, peaceful courtyards designed to inspire a calm, humble attitude among visitors. Photography is permitted, but non-Muslims may not approach the tomb itself.
